There were many magical and confusing moments: This is the point of the service when two men dressed like nurses threw a pair of live chickens into the air and succumb to gravity quite quickly. Then apparently the custom is to chase and catch the chickens. We're not entirely clear on the meaning and symbolism of this tradition.

Then apparently the custom is to chase and catch the chickens. There was no sacrifice of the chickens after said catching, though there were speculations among the foreigners. This has to be the most surreal entry yet — oh my goodness…chickens???

I think if Rachel and I ever renew our vows when we’re older and we have a celebration, I want this to be the model… actually I want this to be the model for all celebration/parties moving forward: chickens, nurses, piggy back rides and one of those being carried carrage thingys. Also I just wanted to say I’m a little disappointed that neither of you caught one of the chickens… come on!

Despite the chickens, which was too funny to read, the bride is absolutely GORGEOUS! Wow, I’ve never seen anything like it.

I think it is horrible that they keep women in locked cages until they are married! And how dare they torture chickens by throwing them in the air when they could break a delicious leg bone! I think the U.N. needs to hear about this!
